JB & Co Associate Featured in News on Buc-ee’s and Area Growth

FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — A Buc-ee’s is coming to Fort Pierce — and it’s already reshaping the area around it, even before construction begins.

The Texas-based travel center will rise just off I-95 and Indrio Road, bringing 120 gas pumps, EV chargers, nearly 800 parking spots, and its famously stocked snack aisles.

But the project’s impact goes far beyond brisket sandwiches and Beaver Nuggets.

Developers say the Buc-ee’s announcement has triggered new interest from homebuilders, commercial investors, and retailers — all eyeing this largely undeveloped part of St. Lucie County as the next hot spot.

“To see that come into this area, which hasn’t really had much development in a while, is a good sign,” said Conor Mackin, sales agent with Jeremiah Baron & Co. “Other developers and investors are taking notice. They know growth is coming here.”

Just four miles away, a 21-acre wooded lot is now listed for sale — and being marketed specifically for its proximity to the upcoming Buc-ee’s.

“There’s going to be a need for housing with all of that,” Mackin said. “A lot of larger homebuilders and townhome developers have been reaching out.”

In fact, Buc-ee’s is just the anchor tenant in a much larger project.

The company purchased its roughly 35-acre site in July 2024 for nearly $10 million from Indrio & I-95 Development LLC — owned by South Florida developer Gustavo Lumer. Lumer’s company still controls about 800 acres earmarked for the broader Indrio development.
